Landslide fear prompts building evacuation in Mussoorie

After incessant rainfall left the Tehri bypass road severely damaged on Saturday, the local administration sprung into action and evacuated a 30-year-old building meant for Municipal Council employees which currently houses 25 people.

MUSSOORIE: After incessant rainfall left the Tehri bypass road severely damaged on Saturday, the local administration sprung into action and evacuated a 30-year-old building meant for Municipal Council employees which currently houses 25 people. On Monday, sub divisional magistrate (Mussoorie) Jitender Singh took precautionary measures to evacuate residents of IDH building on Tehri Bypass road.

“They have been moved to a safer location,” said Singh.
Singh has asked hospitals, PWD, ambulances and other emergency services to remain on alert. Meanwhile, landslide on the arterial Tehri bypass road has led to severe traffic problems in the Landour area.
